After a 70 minute drive you will reach the town of Sierpe. From here it goes by speed boat through the unique mangrove landscape of the Rio Sierpe, always on the lookout for monkeys, sloths, crocodiles and various water birds. Through the mouth of the river it goes out to sea, now with the possibility of sighting dolphins and whales, on the way to the Isla de Cano. You can only enter this protected island on a beach, here is the ranger station, with showers and toilets.
